#KiniNews: CMCO in S’gor, KL, Sabah extended until December 31
The conditional movement control order (MCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Sabah and several localities in other states has been extended until Dec 31, said Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the government made this decision following the advice and risk assessment of the Health Ministry, based on the trend and rising positive cases of Covid-19 in these places. The CMCO in these three states was scheduled to end on Dec 20.

#KiniNews: No-confidence motion
Dewan Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof has accepted a motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
However, it is unknown when this motion would be tabled, if at all as the one-day May 18 sitting will only discuss government business, according to Ariff in a statement.
Ariff said the motion of no-confidence was filed by Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In a separate development, today marked the third day in a row where no new deaths attributed to Covid-19 infections were reported by the Health Ministry.

Malaysia has reported more recoveries in the past 24 hours than new COVID-19 cases.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 166 recoveries were recorded, while the number of new cases detected stood at 156.
This puts the total number of cases at 4,119, with 2,567 of those cases still active.
Two new deaths were also reported, bringing the death toll to 65.

Record-high 212 new Covid-19 cases recorded today | Kini News - 23 Mar
Malaysia has recorded 212 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours - the highest daily increase since the start of the outbreak in late January.
This brings the total number of infections to 1,518 cases.
Previously, the highest increase was on March 15, with 190 new cases in a day.
Health Ministry Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the 212 new cases, 123 were traced to the tabligh gathering in Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur which took place late last month and has become the epicentre of the outbreak in Malaysia.
He also reported four new deaths, bringing the death toll to 14.
This brings the total number of infections to 1,518 cases.
